Horst Faas ontvangt "Dr. Erich Salomon Prijs"
Horst Faas, former Associated Press senior photo editor for Europe, Africa and the Middle East, born 1933 in Berlin will be awarded the 'Dr. Erich Salomon Prize' of the German Society of Photograph (DGPh) for his lifetime achievement, a DGPh-spokeswoman has announced in Cologne, Germany. The award celebrates the memory of the great photographer of the Weimar Republic, Dr. Erich Salomon, whom many regard as the principal founder of modern photojournalism and who died in the Nazi Auschwitz concentration camp in 1944.
